EM4Humanity: Join us as we journal this remarkable project

EM4Fish would like to thank Dr. Gabrielle Lout of Ocean Outcomes, Meghan Martin of The Nature Conservancy, and Kimberly Rogovin of Conservation International for taking us along as they implement the Electronic Monitoring and Connectivity for Crews at Sea project, a collaboration to demonstrate how EM and Wi-Fi will enable workers to make fisheries more transparent, ethical, and resilient. Start with Gabby's introduction, then follow the timeline (below) of this path-breaking project. 

EMC4C IMPACT TO DATE (as of April 30, 2026):

  • 5 vessels are now equipped with Wi-Fi and crew access agreements
  • 3 crew committees have been established to handle grievance
  • 6 vessels are now equipped with electronic monitoring systems
  • 91 crew and 5 captains participated in trainings
