Growing volumes of data are pushing digital transformations in every sector. These transformations require not only technical improvements but also new agreements, systems, and operational practices to make data secure, accessible, and re-usable. Effective data sharing is enabled by the people managing the data system, not the servers alone. Digital Public reviewed the data challenges in one area of U.S. fisheries management – highly migratory fish species in the Pacific – and developed two reports to support future data sharing discussions. These reports are written with the specific needs of fisheries in mind, but their tools and broader lessons are relevant to data collaborations and digital transformations in many sectors. We invite you to join us for a discussion of their work on December 1st at 3pm ET / noon PT / 10am Hawaii.
