SAFET Session 6: Technologies for Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance (MCS)

In this, the 6th and final session of the 2020/21 SAFET conference series, we return to where we started – focusing on technological solutions to fisheries Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) challenges. MCS is an essential component of efforts to manage fisheries sustainably and for the greatest amount of benefit, but has largely been ineffective or, when effective, part of highly developed, well funded and enforced regulatory structures.

This is changing.

In this session you will hear about the current and future landscape for technology-based fisheries MCS, barriers to implementation and how we are overcoming them, and engage in community dialogue surrounding these issues. Join us!
