Goals of the program:
- To determine if REM technology can provide biological and catch data and help meet DCF/DC-MAP requirements.
- To compare the accuracy of REM data to that collected by standard at sea observer and onshore landings sampling methods.
- To determine which sampling method presents the most cost effective solution with an acceptable degree of accuracy and precision.
- To identify if any improvements can be made to sampling methods or if there is an optimal sampling strategies (coverage) to meet enforcement and scientific monitoring needs.
