Biography

Melanie is a Fish and Wildlife Administrator in the Sustainable Fisheries Division, NOAA Fisheries, Pacific Islands Region. She focuses primarily on the development of management measures for federal Pacific Islands fisheries. Melanie is responsible for tracking and reporting regional progress in developing electronic technologies including the use of EM/ER in the Hawaii and American Samoa Longline Fisheries. Melanie is also coordinating with the Pacific Islands Observer Program and the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center in the development of electronic technologies for observer reporting, fishery logbooks, and electronic monitoring of catch and interactions with seabirds, marine mammals, and sea turtles.
