Lisa Damrosch

Biography

Lisa Damrosch is part of a five-generation commercial fishing family that has operated out of Half Moon Bay, California, since the late 1800s. Her experience in fisheries policy is grounded in her family’s fishing operation and decades of working directly with commercial fishermen. Lisa has been involved in the development of electronic monitoring on the West Coast since the earliest compliance trials, coordinating feedback from participating fishermen, managing the California Groundfish Collective’s EM exempted fishing permit, and serving on the Pacific Council’s Groundfish Electronic Monitoring Policy Advisory Committee. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Association and is a member of the California Dungeness Crab Gear Working Group, the California Sea Grant Advisory Board, the Bridge Group, and the board of Seafood Harvesters of America. Her work focuses on practical, science-based fisheries policy that supports sustainable fisheries, working fishermen, and the communities that depend on them.
