Building on my significant experience as a fisherman, I bring proven expertise in a wide range of areas including Monitoring Control and Surveillance, Port State Measures, Fisheries Information Management Systems, Catch Documentation Schemes, Electronic Monitoring, Electronic Reporting’ Regulatory Compliance, EU IUU & SPS Market Access Requirements, Private Sector Support, Fisheries Research, and Project Management. Much of my work involves cultivating stakeholder and industry collaboration in regulatory decision-making. I have consulted in over 55 countries for development organizations such as the EU, FAO, SPC, FFA, UNDP, NZAID, AusAID, USAID, SADC, GTZ and ADB, technology providers like Catapult and FIMS, and industry groups such as Sanford, Trimarine and FCF. Fluent in 4 languages and comfortable working in fishing boats, coastal villages, factories and boardrooms (roughly in that order).
