Biography

Dr Dadong Wang leads the CSIRO Quantitative Imaging Research Team, which develops and helps bring to market intelligent end-to-end imaging and image analysis solutions. His team is working on automated video analysis for e-Monitoring of fisheries operations, including automated fishing event detection, automated fish species identification, counting and measurement. Dadong is an adjunct Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and a Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Prior to joining CSIRO in 2005, he developed large intelligent systems for monitoring/control for multinational corporations. His research interests include image analysis, computer vision, machine learning, signal processing and software engineering. He has developed automated image analysis solutions with the aim of increasing both quality and quantity of information extracted from multi-dimensional image data.
