Biography

Christopher McGuire is the Marine Program Director for The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts. Chris is focused on implementing collaborative and community based solutions to pressing fisheries and conservation challenges. The Conservancy is a global leader in deploying innovative technology to improve the information used for fisheries management, and Chris helps lead an EM project in the New England groundfish fishery. Before joining the Conservancy he sailed as Captain aboard oceanographic research vessels at Sea Education Association for more than a decade. He has a B.A. from Connecticut College, holds a 1600 Ton USCG Ocean Master’s License and earned a Master’s in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island.
