Biography
Meghan is the Ocean Science and Technology Manager for The Nature Conservancy’s Large-Scale Fisheries Program. In her current role, she manages and supports several fisheries and technology related projects for TNC to advance the global uptake of electronic monitoring (EM) across global industrial fisheries. Meghan is primarily focused on 1) developing bycatch mitigation solutions that can be effectively implemented and monitored with EM, 2) advancing EM for social responsibility by utilizing EM systems to support welfare for crews at sea, and 3) supporting the development of new edge-based AI/ML technology to improve the status quo of EM review. Prior to joining TNC, Meghan completed her master’s at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management where she focused on marine resource management and fisheries science, data analysis, and strategic communications.
